Day 2 - France cycling trip: Veurne - Hazebrouck

Today we had a bit better luck with the weather : less wind, and a sunny morning. It's still a bit cold around here, but it should warm up soon!

This morning we were mostly on tiny country roads, which was quite enjoyable.   The afternoon, we took some departmental roads with light traffic.

We arrived in Hazebrouck much earlier than anticipated. This is good news, as my muscles are starting to ask me "wtf, why so much exercise all of a sudden? ", so tomorrow, I will be able to take my time ;-)

I am currently in a cafĂ©, which was hard to find, as most places are closed this easter Sunday.  I've just booked my hotel for tomorrow, which will be just outside Arras.

BoD will return back to reality and the working world tonight.  I think he'll spend easter Monday in bed. I will have to find some way to take pictures of myself now. :-)

  1. I'm glad you got at least a little time riding with BoD, but you'll still have fun on your own, and you already know what that's like. Happy Easter to you, Carmen!

    1. I realize now how I appreciate having him along with me on the ride. But going solo has its advantages too. Anyway, with a smartphone and Internet access everywhere in France, he's only a chat message away. :-)

      Happy easter to you too!

  2. Arras: One of the few places in France where I can say "I've been there!"

    1. True :-) Actually, tonight I am staying in a city about 4 miles from Arras. I may end up in Arras if I get kicked out of here :-) More on that soon...
