Today I cycled from Guingamp to Saint-Brieuc. The ride to reach the hotel, in the center of Saint-Brieuc, was 35km, but I went a bit further to see what my paper map indicated as a nice view point of the sea, making today's trip a total of 45km.
Lunch was a bit less glamorous today: I bought a ham and cheese sandwich, a banana, and a box of Figolu (it had been a whole day since I'd had a box), and I ate sitting on the side of the road :-)
I passed through Mississipi (that's spelled correctly) today. I couldn't help laughing when I saw that sign saying "Mississipi". If the people who live there heard me laughing and saw me taking a photo of the sign, they probably rolled their eyes and thought "another American tourist"
On the road at Saint-Brieuc, I saw a car with a "Route 66" sticker.
Shortly after arriving at the hotel, I took a two hour nap. This is becoming a habit. I hope management will understand when I return to work, if I continue taking afternoon naps, preferably after lunch.
For dinner, I went to a Mexican restaurant called "Tijuana". I ordered a beef burrito and an apple crumble for dessert. This delicious meal more than made up for my sandwich-on-the-side-of-the-road lunch (which actually was quite nice but not as intetesting for you readers, I guess.)
After passing through Mississipi, seeing Route 66 and eating in Tijuana, I'm not sure anymore if I'm in France (excuse me, in Brittany) or North America.
Still no rain, but it will probably come tomorrow!
Hi, Carmen! I'm finally catching up after a few day out of town. Looks like you've settled into a good lifestyle out there, taking afternoon naps and eating a Tijuana diet. Yeah, I'm jealous, but I'm happy for you, too.
ReplyDeleteHahah the afternoon naps are over, unfortunately :) Well, there's always the weekend...
DeleteHope you had a nice trip out of town!
